I needed to know why! Is it just the cute clothes they sell and their disciples wear with such ferver? Or was there more than just an average class happening?
My questions were answered when I happened to catch a free pass through Club MomMe at Soul Cycle's new location in El Segundo at The Point.
It's a tight sweaty squeeze through the lobby/locker room to the studio. And an even tighter squeeze to get to your bike! But once I was on my bike with the help of manager Ben, I was good to go!
This was my view before they took my phone. I forgot to read rule number one in the lobby. My bad!
Good thing I didn't have my phone, because I didn't need the distractions. Our awesome instructor, Chris Layda, put us through our paces and was a champ at taking a room of mostly Soul Cycle virgins and making us sweat.
Something to know about me- I do not like spin class. I've been to about 6 in my lifetime, and have participated in Cycle for Survival, but that's it. It's not my jam! I DID like Soul Cycle, and it was the emphasis on the soul. The powerful phrases used throughout the class made me feel uplifted and empowered. I was really surprised that I liked it so much.
If you are interested in trying a spin class with a little more substance, I recommend Soul Cycle. It was a motivating butt kicker! And I walked away with a little silver tote bag as a momento to show off to the other disciples. ;)
Thanks to Club MomMe and instructor Chris!
